Once you are at your desktop you can do the start > my computer thing and confirm that the USB drive is seen as drive ?: Then as W7 loads it will see the USB drive and react accordingly. May I suggest that you set your boot order for your hard drive first and the CD drive second.
I think your computer is having a problem searching for the boot loader file so it can get started. When I need to boot from a Cd or DVD I just hit The key for the boot menu and select the correct option.
Under normal circumstances I keep the boot order - HDD > CD/DVD > USB. Not a big deal, just share the compter with my 7 year old and teenager and this is a just a bit of a wrinkle since I always like to keep my external plugge in.Īn attempt at answering, not Ghost related OK, I have more than one enternal and more than one external drive. I changed the boot order so cd is bdfore "usb hdd", which was the default. the first start up screen that has "press enter for setup mode" does not respond to enter and nothing happens for a long time (not sure how long, i am not a patient person). When I reboot my new windows 7 laptop, if I have my external usb 1 gb harddrive plugged in, the reboot just hangs. I do have one question that is not Ghost related but concerns the boot. Practiced booting up and looking at m backup and so far so good.
Downloaded the Ghost 15 SRD and it worked.
